The questions every WA family asks us

Does palliative care mean we have given up?
Absolutely not. Palliative care is about living as well as possible for as long as possible. It is active, holistic care that focuses on quality of life, comfort, and supporting the family alongside medical treatment.
How much does palliative care cost in Western Australia?
Most palliative care services provided through public hospitals and community health services are free for patients. There may be costs associated with private providers or specific equipment, which we can help you navigate.
Is palliative care only for people with cancer?
No. Palliative care is available to anyone with a life-limiting illness, including advanced heart, lung or kidney disease, neurological conditions like MND or Parkinson's, and dementia.
Can we receive care at home or do we have to go to a hospice?
Many West Australians choose to receive care in the comfort of their own home. We can help you explore community nursing, respite and specialist home-based services available in your specific postcode.
